Introducing the NACRJ Book Club

So many people within the NACRJ community have written or contributed to books about community justice, restorative justice, and related topics. My own bookshelf is filled with so many of these books, and they have all helped shape both my life and my work as a restorative justice practitioner. 

For years, I have wanted NACRJ to have a space where we could read and discuss these books together. I’m excited that we are now bringing that idea to life with the new NACRJ Book Club.

For our first selection, we will read The Little Book of Restorative Justice & Community: Reclaiming Connection and Responsibility for Our Neighbors by two longtime NACRJ members Sheryl Wilson and Caitlin Morneau. Just released earlier this year, the book explores the roles and responsibilities of community members in restorative processes and considers how we can build relationships and communities that are better prepared to navigate harm and challenges together.

Sheryl and Caitlin will join us for our gathering on October 28. We’ll begin by hearing from them about the book and the ideas behind it. Participants will then join small-group circles to explore the questions raised in the book and consider how they connect to our personal lives and practice.

The book is a quick read, and we hope that announcing the gathering now will give everyone plenty of time to read it before October 28. 

Participation is free for NACRJ members and 2026 National Conference attendees and $25 for non-members. Please register by September 30.
