Always Learning, Always Building: Reflections from the REFORM Alliance Institute at Yale

REFORM-group

NACRJ’s Conference and Events Director, Lucinda Cross, recently attended the REFORM Alliance Institute at Yale. In this reflection, she explores how the experience connects to NACRJ’s mission and the broader movement for justice transformation.

I had the honor of attending the REFORM Alliance Institute in New Haven at Yale in July as a part of their Super Reformers Training, and what an experience. The training was rooted in policy change, advocacy, and campaign development, all designed to shift the narrative around justice and reform.

REFORM Alliance is doing the critical work to transform probation and parole systems, advocating for smart, humane policies that reduce incarceration and promote successful reentry. Their work aligns deeply with our mission in community and restorative justice. True change starts within our communities.

And the icing on the cake? Hearing from my friend and keynote speaker, Erica Ford of Life Camp, a legend in community activism, who reminded us to stay rooted in our purpose and committed to making an impact.

Stay ready. Stay learning. Stay in the fight.
