Denver Conference Presents 'Moving Stories'

Motus FullColorVariant1 1One of the 'moving' highlights of the recent NACRJ Conference in Denver, Colorado, was a set of dramatic readings put on by Motus Theater. A group of seven people who experienced the harshness of our criminal justice system paired up with professionals in the justice system, jointly reading the true life stories written by the seven participants. Listen now to an audio version of this presentation, and stay tuned for a video version that will be released in the upcoming months.

Also featured during the conference was plenary speaker Adam Foss, a prosecutor from Boston who has also spoken in TED Talk circuits. His talk, Stemming the Tide of Mass Incarceration: The Role of Prosecutors, described his work to stem the tide of mass incarceration, and to redifine the role of prosecutors in the criminal justice system by incorporating restorative and relational values. His talk can also be heard online through an audio recording.

Stay tuned for additional conference sessions to be posted in the forthcoming weeks!
